ORNL is investing in our nuclear facilities to ensure the directorate goals are met and strategies are executed. To support and protect our assets we are hiring a Nuclear Facility CMMS Specialist.  This role will drive asset management process improvement, evaluate, and monitor data quality, assist with compliance audits, develop, and publish section key performance indicators (KPI’s), provide CMMS training oversight, and populate all master data with correct hierarchical structure and taxonomy.  A successful candidate in this technical role will utilize specialized knowledge in nuclear facilities, CMMS functions, data management, and report generation.


Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the application and user setup of CMMS software, work order, work planning, and spare part functionality of the software. Provides workflow development and configuration and routinely monitors data transfer from and to the CMMS and other core business systems.
  • Acts as point of contact for the day-to-day operations of the CMMS. Provides support to users for applicable problems and solutions.
  • Adds, modifies, and grants user access to CMMS. Performs system set-up configuration including permissions levels.
  • Responsible for user training including development of training material for users across the Division.
  • Develops equipment hierarchy and ensures data accuracy. Reviews all data for adherence to hierarchy and errors prior to uploading or input of data. Modifies as necessary.
  • Supports all CMMS environments, including but not limited to development, testing, training, and production. Participates in EAM software upgrades/updates/expansions including project scoping, work plans, and testing requirements.
  • Monitors data integrity of the EAM database to support the asset management functions of the department and makes recommendations.
  • Research new software functionality for applicability with directorate needs and makes recommendations for implementation including timing and resources requirements.
  • Develops reports, datasets, dashboard queries and special queries to meet user requirements. Develops graphical Key Performance Indicators, metrics, and screen layouts such as cost reporting, PM compliance, schedule adherence, and others as required by Directive DOE G 433.1.B
  • Acts as the liaison for problem solving and/or escalation with both staff and software vendors on both the core system and its interfaces. Initiates service requests for software modifications.
  • Routinely monitors transfer of data between software systems through interface programs and troubleshoots systems and user errors.  Works with IS and users to resolve errors.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or IT and 2+ years of KPI technical report writing
  • Direct experience in the operation, support, or maintenance of nuclear facilities


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recognized industry certification such as CMRP, CRL, CFM, RMIC
  • Experience in maintaining assets in a nuclear facility and familiarity with Directive DOE G 433.1-1
  • Experience using InforEAM CMMS
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above
  • SQL data management and MS Power BI report generation
