Overview:
We are seeking a Product Manager to focus on business analysis support for application development and support projects. This position resides in the Facility & Mobile Computing team of the Software Engineering group in the Application Development division of the Information Technology Services Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
Product Managers serve as part of a software development team to assist in the collection of requirements, managing a product backlog, and development and execution of test plans. This position blends several typical roles within an agile team: Project Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, and Tester.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Participate as part of the requirements gathering team by analyzing, defining, and understanding business needs to build requirements and process flows.
- Responsible for creating and managing official software requirements and documentation.
- Develop end-to-end acceptance test plans that are traceable to the requirements document.
- Execute acceptance test plans and document results to maintain compliance.
- Investigate reported software defects by reproducing the problem, reporting the error to the development teams, documenting the technical issues, and offering recommendations from a quality perspective.
- Collaborate with application owners and software developers to resolve issues (development and production issues) and track to closure.
- Enter, manage, and track user stories in Target Process, Azure Dev Ops, or other tools.

Basic Qualifications:
- A BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, information system, information technology, business, or a related field of study and five (5) to seven (7) years of aligned professional experience is required for consideration. An overall combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience facilitating, gathering, and documenting user requirements through application design sessions with business customers.
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, time management and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the development and execution of test plans.
- Experience working as a member of an Agile project team.
Special Requirements:
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position requires access to technology that is subject to export control requirements. Successful candidates must be qualified for such access without an export control license.
