Overview:

We are seeking a Contracts/Supplier Business Analyst who will focus on Ariba vendor registrations, customer service for vendor registrations both internally and with vendors.  This position resides in the Contracts Compliance group in the Contracts Division of the Business Services Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).  

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Register vendors in the Ariba system and ensure their registrations comply with all required government policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate the configuration of the procurement module in SAP Ariba and establish/maintain business rules for the Ariba system consistent with ORNL Contracts Procurement practices and company-level procedures.

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of SAP, Ariba, the integration between SAP and Ariba, and the criticality of the objects within the ORNL financial system. Knowledge of the SAM.gov system or other database tools that may potentially interface with Ariba is required.

  • Effectively interface with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal supplier management and training.

  • Lead department training programs for all Buyers, Managers, Strategic Sourcing Specialists, Analysts, and Support staff on vendor management topics.

  • Lead the Vendor Administration team, manage supplier lifecycle performance, and facilitate supplier integration in the SAP Business Network, while also managing supplier reporting and collaborating with Contracts, Accounts Payable, and Treasury Services.

  • Assist in maintaining and developing internal and external ORNL Contracts Division websites.

  • Document and update contract requirements based on internal IOPs/procedures.

  • Meet in person or via calls with internal and/or external stakeholders to facilitate team and business priorities and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate, troubleshoot, connect, and liaise between suppliers and ORNL’s Ariba Administrator.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree and 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Must be customer service oriented with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse laboratory population. 

  • Must have excellent communication skills, written and oral, and must be able to deal effectively with a variety of individuals at all levels.

  • Must have a high level of organization and computer skills, working knowledge of PC, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Adobe Acrobat).  Must have excellent time management, written and verbal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ariba, SAP, FAR

  • General troubleshooting experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory 

  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs
