Overview:
We are seeking a Supplier Lifecycle Specialist to manage the end-to-end supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance process within the SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle Performance module, including registration, registration updates, modular questionnaires, qualification questionnaires, SAP Network integration, and SAP business partners. The Supplier Lifecycle Specialist is responsible for managing, troubleshooting and resolving SAP Ariba system and process issues related to the supplier lifecycle. The Supplier Lifecycle Specialist is also responsible for working the supplier to establish the SAP Business Network relationship. Additional responsibilities include compliance, risk mitigation, and supplier data governance by managing questionnaires, supporting supplier registrations, assisting with SAP ERP integration issues, enforcing annual supplier updates, monitoring certificates, managing novation and/or change of name projects, and training internal teams. This position is in the Contracts Small Business and Supplier Enablement Group in the Contracts Division, within the Business Services Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and lead efforts to resolve SAP Ariba and other system integration issues, troubleshoot errors, and optimize system performance.
- Ariba SLP Process Mapping: Create and/or maintain process mappings that reflect the SLP processes, integrations with SAP ERP, integrations with Advanced Buying, and necessary relationships in the SAP Business Network.
- Design and refine workflows in alignment with SAP standards and data governance principles.
- Data Management & Compliance: Ensure all supplier data is accurate and compliant, mitigating risks by monitoring certificate expirations, supplier registration updates, and supplier questionnaires.
- System Integration & Reporting: Assist the ORNL SAP Applications team with integration issues due to data discrepancies and generate/review/distribute performance reports.
- Process Improvement: Streamline supplier onboarding cycle times and reduce manual efforts.
- SAP Business Partner: Utilize the SAP Business Partner to block suppliers as needed due to performance, stale data, or other reasons.
- Lead the process for registering suppliers/businesses in the Ariba system using the Supplier Lifecycle Management application and ensure the supplier registrations comply with all required policies/procedures.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing of SAP Ariba integration solutions.
- Serve as primary support contact for suppliers and buying staff.
- Document technical specifications, configuration settings, and integration processes for reference and knowledge sharing.
- Meet in-person/on calls with internal customers and/or external stakeholders to facilitate team and business priorities and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as primary contact for communication between suppliers and ORNL’s Ariba Administrator(s).
- Represent team in a leadership role for ad hoc projects and events within division, including developing and providing training for system enhancements and supplier enablement topics.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Business Administration, Information Systems, or other business-related areas and 5 years of experience in SAP.
- Customer service oriented
- General troubleshooting experience
- Ability to work well in a team environment and be highly motivated
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, including ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals at all levels
- Must have high level of organization and computer skills, working knowledge of PC, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat).
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Ariba Supplier Lifecycle Management and/or SAP software platforms
- Excellent communication skills

- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an HSPD-12 PIV badge.

Hybrid Eligibility:
This position is located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and requires onsite presence. We offer a flexible work environment that supports both the organization and the employee. A hybrid/onsite working arrangement may be available with this position, which provides flexibility to work periodically from your home, while reporting onsite to the Oak Ridge, Tennessee location on a weekly and regular basis.
