Overview:
The Platform Services Team within the Information Technology Services Directorate has an opening for a DevOps and Integrations Engineer. You will work with both internal to ITSD and external customers to assist in automation and integration efforts.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
As a member of the Platform Services Team, you will work independently and/or as part of a team in research, analysis, and operations of DevOps and Integration tools and infrastructure, with a focus on Jenkins/GitOps and Kubernetes. A typical day often includes:
- Working independently and/or as part of a team in research, analysis, and operations of DevOps and Integration tools and infrastructure, with a focus on Jenkins/GitOps and Kubernetes
- Participating in and managing key elements of our Identity platforms (AzureAD, PingFederate) using information technologies and learning new technologies
- Conducting requirements analysis, developing automated workflows, and using scripting languages
- Working with open source tools
- Configuring, deploying, and executing backend processes on Linux-based servers
- Creating documentation for other operational team members and end users.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field and two years of progressive Linux systems administration (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience in working in a DevOps environment, specifically around container workflows.
- Knowledge and experience in scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell.
- Knowledge of Linux command-line interface.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with the following solutions is a plus: SAML, OAuth2, OpenIDConnect, AzureAD, ADFS; PingFederate; Cloud Management Solutions for Azure, AWS, and/or Google.
- Knowledge of any of the following is a plus: web servers (Apache, NGINX, Tomcat, etc.), DNS, OpenLDAP, databases (MySQL and SQL Server), virtualization and container infrastructure (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes), communication protocols (ssh, nfs, ftp, scp, etc.).
- Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
- Desire to learn and adopt new tools and technologies as required by the projects.
- Ability to work with customer teams on their projects.
- Ability to multitask.
