Overview: 

ORNL is investing in our nuclear facilities to ensure the directorate goals are met and strategies are executed. To support this mission we are hiring a Reliability Technician.  
 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Validate predictive maintenance routes and inspections on mechanical and electrical equipment are performed correctly.
  • Collect and Analyze vibration analysis data for machinery defects and communicate findings to reliability engineering.
  • Populate reliability software databases with equipment master data and build inspection routes.
  • Work with engineering, maintenance, and work control personnel to develop work orders for the repair of issues found during routes and analysis.
  • Assist and coach maintenance personnel in laser alignment, ultrasonic lubrication, and other precision maintenance as the subject matter expert.
  • Assist Reliability Engineering with other activities as needed.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in an engineering or science discipline and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. A high school diploma may be considered with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in DOE nuclear facilities or similarly complex facility maintenance operations
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience in predictive maintenance technologies. i.e., Vibration and Ultrasonic Analysis

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DOE Q security clearance
  • ISO Cat II Vibration Analysis Certification
  • Experience working with computer-based maintenance management systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) Certification

 

*This position is a full-time staff position.
