Senior SharePoint/M365 Developer

Date: Aug 4, 2022

Location: Oak Ridge, TN, US, 37830

Company: Oak Ridge National Laboratory

Requisition Id 8566

Purpose:

The Web Services Group of the Information Technology Services Division in the Business Services Directorate at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks to hire a Senior Micorosft 365/SharePoint Developer to independently design, develop, and maintain ORNL SharePoint sites and M365 apps, as well as advise on the administration of the PowerApps environment with an eye towards empowering citizen developers within enterprise guidelines.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

Typical projects to be supported range from simple to highly complex for a large (5000+ employee) enterprise environment. It is not uncommon for multiple sites and customers to be supported simultaneously by a single analyst or administrator, so the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and be goal- and deadline-oriented is required. Projects to be supported may include SharePoint online (cloud based) or Microsoft 365 Power Apps, which span all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through production implementation. This individual will be responsible for helping set technical direction as it pertains to SharePoint and Power Apps, interfacing with the platform administration team, and helping set standards for SharePoint and Power Apps development. The Senior SharePoint/M365 Developer is expected to be an expert and technical leader who mentors other developers.

Basic Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum of eight (8) years professional computing experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Expertise in all phases of PowerApps and SharePoint online development including requirements gathering and analysis, system design, prototype development, site design, configuration control, testing, software quality assurance, and maintenance.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Experience with Power Automate, Dataverse, and related tools.
  • Experience with Infowise or Shortpoint.
  • The successful candidate must be a highly-motivated self-starter who is comfortable working as part of a team (in any capacity) or as an independent contributor.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a strong customer focus and excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • A desire to continuously improve technical skills and identify opportunities where development tools meeting ORNL Standards may be used in place of non-standard tools is expected.
