SharePoint Developer

Date: Jan 1, 2022

Location: Oak Ridge, TN, US, 37830

Company: Oak Ridge National Laboratory

Requisition Id 6976

Overview:

The Web Services Group of the Information Technology Services Division in the Business Services Directorate at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks to hire a SharePoint/365 Developer to independently design, develop, and maintain ORNL SharePoint sites and M365 apps, as well as provide instruction and support for users of new web tools and resources.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

Typical projects to be supported range from simple to highly complex for a large (5000+ employee) enterprise environment. It is not uncommon for multiple sites and customers to be supported simultaneously by a single analyst, so the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and be goal and deadline oriented is required. Projects to be supported may include SharePoint online (cloud based) or Microsoft 365 Power Apps which span all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through production implementation. Other project possibilities include maintenance and enhancement of existing websites using various other technologies. We seek individuals with experience, interest, and skill on either user interfaces or back end.

Minimum Qualifications:

The position requires a bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of five years professional computing experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

This position also requires competence in all phases of SharePoint online development including requirements gathering and analysis, system design, prototype development, site design, configuration control, testing, software quality assurance, and maintenance.

Additional desired qualifications include experience with Microsoft 365 Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and related tools.

The successful candidate must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is comfortable working as part of a team (in any capacity) or as an independent contributor. The candidate must demonstrate a strong customer focus and excellent written and verbal communications skills. A desire to continuously improve technical skills and identify opportunities where development tools meeting ORNL Standards may be used in place of non-standard tools is expected.
