Company: Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Requisition Id 10068
Overview:
The Web Services Group of the Information Technology Services Division in the Business Services Directorate at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks to hire a SharePoint/365 Developer as a cooperating team member to design, develop, and maintain ORNL SharePoint sites and M365 apps, as well as provide instruction and support for users of new web tools and resources.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Typical projects to be supported range from simple to highly complex for a large (5000+ employee) enterprise environment. It is not uncommon for any one developer to be simultaneously supporting multiple sites and customers, so the ability to work cooperatively, manage time effectively, and be goal and deadline oriented is required. Projects to be supported may include SharePoint online (cloud based) or Microsoft 365 Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), which span all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through production implementation. Other project possibilities include maintenance and enhancement of existing websites using various other technologies. We seek individuals with experience, interest, and skill on either user interfaces or back end.
Basic Qualifications:
- The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum of two years of professional computing experience.
- Competence in all phases of SharePoint online development including requirements gathering and analysis, system design, prototype development, site design, configuration control, testing, software quality assurance, and maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and related tools.
- Highly-motivated, self-starter who is comfortable working as part of a team (in any capacity) or as an independent contributor.
- A strong customer focus and excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- A desire to continuously improve technical skills and identify opportunities where development tools meeting ORNL Standards may be used in place of non-standard tools.
