Overview:
We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to join the RESolution project team. This role will be responsible for both manual and automated QA testing across RESolution’s core modules. The ideal candidate will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and deliver high-quality releases in an Agile environment.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Manual Testing
- Review features and user stories to validate requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Design manual test scenarios based on defined requirements.
- Document and maintain test cases in Azure DevOps for traceability and reuse.
- Execute manual test cases during feature validation and release phases.
- Log and track defects identified during manual test execution, ensuring timely resolution.
Automated Testing
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated tests.
- Participate in code reviews and promote best practices for test automation.
- Gather and present testing metrics and reporting.
Collaboration & Process
- Work as part of an Agile development team, updating user stories, tasks, and defects.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to ensure tests align with software requirements.
- Contribute to creating SQA release documentation as part of a shared QA team effort.

Basic Qualifications:
- A BS in a business management, information technology, computer science, computer engineering, technology, science, engineering, or related field of study and five to seven years of proven professional experience is required. An overall combination of equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience with commonly used testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Katalon, or similar tools.
- A solid understanding of using Git for version control including common branching and merging strategies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience developing automated tests using C# and Playwright.
- Experience working as team member under one or more Agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.
- Desire to continuously improve technical skills, processes, and strategies in delivering regular, reliable, high-quality releases.
Special Requirements:
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position requires access to technology that is subject to export control requirements. Successful candidates must be qualified for such access without an export control license.
Security, Credentialing, and Eligibility Requirements:
For employment at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), a Real ID compliant form of identification will be required. Additionally, ORNL is subject to Department of Energy (DOE) access restrictions. All employees must also be able to obtain and maintain a federal Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card as mandated by Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order 473.1A, which requires a favorable post-employment background investigation.
To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a Federal Tier 1 background check investigation. This investigation includes a declaration of illegal drug activities, including use, supply, possession, or manufacture within the last year. This includes marijuana and cannabis derivatives, which are still considered illegal under federal law, regardless of state laws.

If you have not resided in the U.S. for three consecutive years, you are not eligible for the PIV credential and instead will need to obtain a favorable Local Site Specific Only (LSSO) risk determination to maintain employment. Once you meet the three-year residency requirement, you will be required to obtain a PIV credential to maintain employment.
