Overview:
Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking a system engineer and developer to support the Neutron Science Directorate (NScD) which operates the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR), the United States’ highest flux reactor-based neutron source, and the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), the world’s most intense pulsed accelerator-based neutron source.
The position is responsible for the well-being of the Infor Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system to support the SNS accelerator operations. Work includes but not limited to the Infor (EAM) patching, upgrade, configuration, development, maintenance, testing, and integration with other enterprise level solutions. You will report to the Neutron Systems Engineering and Support group leader within the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD).
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Upgrade, patch, configure, customize, and maintain the Infor (EAM) application
- Create and maintain interfaces that share data between the SNS Infor (EAM) and other business systems
- Create custom metrics and dashboards to measure utilization and performance
- Create and maintain Oracle Stored Procedures/Functions/Triggers that enforce business rules
- Extract or update data using SQL or PL/SQL
- Create and maintain Alerts and User Defined Screens within Infor (EAM)
- Create and maintain Infor Advanced Consumer reports
- Provide off hours support during maintenance windows if needed
- Identify areas of system optimization based on client usage and business processes
- Provide suggestions for process improvement and implement when required
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical subject and 2 years of experience.
- Experience with database triggers, stored procedures and functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge with mobile solutions, work planning and scheduling, parts and inventory management.
- Programming skills (Java, JavaScript, HTML, and Python).
- Ability to design solutions incorporating out-of-box functionality and collaborative solution design with technical teams.
- The ability to develop, test, and deploy code into the appropriate environment.
